Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents (two-person, married couple) reside in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School, providing care, supervision, guidance, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and chapel attendance, budgeting and reporting, and a transition path to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same student group. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement in a single student home.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- To be considered, both spouses must complete individual employment applications

- Residence in the student home on campus with up to 8–13 students
- Prohibition on alcohol on duty
- Smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds only
