Job Summary
Full-time two-person Flex Houseparent role at Milton Hershey School. The incumbents reside in on-campus student homes to supervise and mentor a group of approximately 8–13 students, manage household routines and scheduling, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan and participate in developmental and recreational activities, and lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel. The role includes budgeting and household reporting, a nine-on/three-off initial schedule, and eventual placement as a dedicated Houseparent with the same student group. Requires a legally married team of two spouses (at least two years), both aged 27+, high school diploma or GED, valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs., and commitment to a smoke-free, weapon-free campus with limited pet allowances; relocation assistance is provided.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- This is a two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
