Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparent role at Milton Hershey School: couples reside in on-campus student homes, provide daily supervision, mentorship, and guidance to a group of 8–13 students; manage household routines, schedules, and budgeting; administer medications; drive students to activities; lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel; oversee household reporting; and progress toward a Placed Houseparent assignment living with the same student group. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off and includes transition to a placed role. Requires a high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and two years of legal marriage with both spouses age 27 or older; relocation assistance and paid training provided.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- This is a two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
