Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparent couple to reside on Milton Hershey School campus, providing daily supervision, mentorship, and care for 8–13 students in on-campus homes. Responsibilities include supervising and guiding students, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from a nine-days-on/three-days-off schedule to a placed houseparent role living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person of $44,768 (approximately $168,000 total per couple), comprehensive insurance, retirement savings, relocation assistance, paid time off, and training. Qualifications require youth experience, two-year married status for both spouses, age 27+, limit on dependents, driver’s license with ability to drive student vans, high school diploma or GED, ability to lift 50 lbs, and adherence to smoke-free/weapon-free campus with no alcohol on duty and prohibited proselytizing.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Proselytizing prohibited
