Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents (two spouses) reside in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School to provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning/developing developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and reporting. The role begins with a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule across various homes and can transition to a placed houseparent role with a fixed student home. Benefits include salary per person ($44,768) with total compensation for the couple around $168,000, relocation assistance, comprehensive health benefits, paid training, and PTO.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and chapel
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus
