Job Summary
Two-person, Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School provide care, guidance, supervision and support for a group of 8–13 students in on-campus homes. Responsibilities include daily supervision, mentorship, managing routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Initial schedule is nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent role living and working with the same student group. Benefits include medical/dental/vision, paid relocation training, and a compensation package of about $168,000 per couple ($44,768 per person) plus housing and meals on duty.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-spouse legal married status for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Sunday Chapel
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
