Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents for Milton Hershey School, a two-person married couple who reside on-campus in student homes to care for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and leading development and recreation activities, daily devotions and Chapel attendance, budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from flexible nine-on/three-off duty to the Placed Houseparent model living with the same group of students. Requires high school diploma or GED, valid U.S. driver’s license with ability to become certified to drive student vans, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke- and weapon-free campus. Both spouses must apply individually and be legally married for at least two years, with both spouses aged 27 or older.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
