Job Summary
Married couples are hired as Full-time Flex Houseparents to reside in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School, providing care, guidance, supervision, and support for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting, and household reporting. The role begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement as a Houseparent living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person, comprehensive coverage, and relocation assistance. This is a two-person, on-campus caregiving position requiring both spouses to apply individually, with on-campus residency and a strong focus on student development and well-being.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for married couples (both spouses)
- Both spouses aged 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children in home
- Commitment to smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
