Job Summary
Married-couple Full-time Flex Houseparents on the Milton Hershey School campus in Hershey, PA, reside in on-campus student homes to supervise 8–13 students, provide care, mentorship, supervision, and support, administer medications, drive students to activities, and lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel. Responsibilities include managing household routines, budgeting, and reporting; initially working nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent living with the same group of students. Requires two-person, legally married partnership for consideration; HS diploma or GED required; both spouses must be 27 or older; valid driver’s license and ability to drive student vans; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; relocation assistance provided; comprehensive benefits available. For consideration, both spouses must complete individual employment applications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
