Job Summary
Troubleshoot, repair, and service inmate technology systems including phones, video visitation units, and tablets across assigned correctional facilities. Maintain onsite telecommunications hardware, networking equipment, and wiring while performing daily data entry for customer contracts. Address basic telephone repair needs and provide onsite training to facility personnel as necessary. Monitor service expenses and control costs to ensure optimal system performance. Build working relationships with correctional staff, vendors, and contractors to resolve technical problems. Deliver services in a timely manner to maintain high customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in telecommunications – including installation, repair, and troubleshooting of various inmate communication systems (inmate telephones, video visitation systems, TTY or VRS Units, and Wi-Fi/Access Points)
- 2 years of experience with computer / network installation and repair
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Basic computer skills
- Must be able to consistently pass criminal background screens
Desired Qualifications
- Some college courses
- Previous Inmate Telecom experience
- Experience with wireless networking and cabling
- Knowledge of fiber optic cable, testing, splicing, and provisioning
- Basic understanding of network and bandwidth capabilities of services offered
