Job Summary
Part-time School Nurse (Chapter 226) in Burlington County, NJ. Responsible for assisting medical inspector with medical examinations and screenings (dental, hearing, vision), developing and maintaining student health records according to state regulations, notifying parents and health officials about immunization issues, preparing annual immunization reports, conducting scoliosis screenings for pupils aged 10-18, reporting diseases as required, maintaining nursing supplies, providing emergency care, and participating in meetings while ensuring compliance with Chapter 226 and MOESC policies. Reports to the Special Services Director or Designee. Requires NJ RN license, preferred NJ Dept of Ed School Nurse Certification, transportation access, strong interpersonal/organizational skills, background check, and health clearance; part-time, hourly based on funding and needs; EOE.
Required Qualifications
- Valid License as a Registered Nurse issued by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing
- NJ Department of Ed School Nurse Certification Preferred
- Nursing Experience, school setting preferred
- Hold and maintain a valid Driver License with no serious violations or be able to obtain own transportation to various nonpublic school locations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status, and certified health clearance
