Job Summary
Initiate and maintain compliance with company policies for accreditation. Complete an initial dental screening on all new commitments within seven days. Evaluate patients needing or applying for dental care and formulate individual treatment plans after thorough exams. Perform routine cleaning, drilling, filling, and extractions following National Commission for Correctional Health Care Standards. Take impressions for dental plates, send prostheses to outside labs, and prescribe pharmaceuticals to treat documented conditions. Produce clear health records using the Electronic Health Records system and maintain supplies and equipment inventory. Teach staff about diet, flossing, and fluoride use while providing in-service training on dental care and emergencies. Supervise professional, technical, and administrative staff and collaborate with the Hospital medical team, mental health professionals, nurses, and health technicians. Maintain professional knowledge by attending workshops and reviewing publications.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in dentistry from an accredited dental school
- Licensed to practice as a registered dentist in the state in which the facility is located
