Job Summary
Lead Production – Planer Mill & Sawmill: assist the Supervisor in overseeing daily operations, lead planer mill staff (machine operators, laborers, maintenance personnel), schedule shifts, and fill in as supervisor on shift. Oversee operation of planer mill machinery, coordinate with sawmill for steady lumber flow, monitor production output for quality and quantity, inspect lumber and maintain quality-control processes, collaborate with QA on issues and corrective actions, ensure machinery maintenance and safety protocols, conduct safety meetings, maintain production records, prepare KPI data, and identify opportunities for process improvements while staying current on industry trends and promoting from within. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; degree or certification in a related field is a plus
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent knowledge of planer mill machinery and operations
- Proficient in quality control and production processes
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Effective communication and people skills
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical labor for extended periods; lift up to fifty pounds
