Job Summary
Adjust third-party General Liability, Auto Liability, Errors and Omissions, and Law Enforcement claims involving bodily injury, personal injury, or wrongdoing. Review new claim assignments within 24 hours, contact the claimant or insured immediately, and complete plans of action. Interview witnesses, gather evidence, assign appraisers, and determine estimate appropriateness. Request payment authorization, follow client guidelines for denials, and obtain internal investigation reports. Act with good faith from beginning to closure, set system reminders, and accurately record all communications. Run ISO ClaimSearch, determine injury status, and interact with other adjusters. Report to the Excess carrier, respond to Reservation of Rights letters, and ensure mandatory Medicare reporting. Maintain a 95% claim closure ratio and meet Continuing Education requirements. This full-time, home-based role may require travel for claims meetings, seminars, or scene investigations.
Required Qualifications
- College degree or equivalent experience
- Possession of Adjuster license
- Maintain CEU credits for Adjuster license
- Excellent knowledge of Tort Law, bad faith procedures and case law, as well as principles of liability and medical terminology
- Previous experience with settling bodily injury claims
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Proactive, independent, dependable, and takes initiative with consistent follow through
- Superb written and verbal communication skills conducted in a timely manner with diverse audiences
- Superior time management skills with capability of working with and meeting deadlines
- Exceptional capability to multi-task and prioritize with excellent organization and documentation skills in a fast-paced work environment
- High level attention to detail with ability to utilize decision making and problem-solving skills
- Capable of working collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision
- Exhibit discretion with sensitive and confidential information
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
