Oxygen Technician (O2 Tech)

Job Summary
Inspect, clean, test, and maintain oxygen and breathing air equipment and systems (cylinders, regulators, converters, fittings, valves, and related components) to ensure safety, compliance, and proper operation. Disassemble/reassemble equipment using approved procedures and basic hand tools; replace consumable and wear components; perform pressure, leak, and functional tests; troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and verify operation after repair. Maintain complete records of inspections, maintenance, repairs, and certifications per company and regulatory requirements. Work primarily in controlled areas with strict adherence to safety, cleanliness, and contamination-control procedures for life-support systems; support audits and continuous improvement efforts related to equipment reliability and safety.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- technical training or certification preferred
- Mechanical aptitude and experience with pressurized systems, valves, regulators, or similar equipment
- Ability to read and follow technical manuals, drawings, and established procedures
- Proficient with hand tools, measuring devices, and test equipment
- Strong attention to detail and safety/quality
- Ability to document work and maintain traceable records
