Job Summary
Assist the Oxidizer Operator in daily tasks, including completing pre-start and operational checklists, monitoring equipment readings, and ensuring products meet quality specifications. Operate counterbalance or propane-powered forklifts and perform general housekeeping duties while documenting production numbers and downtime. Adhere to all safety policies, notify the operator of deficiencies, and execute corrective actions as needed. Work 12-hour shifts on rotation between days and nights, including weekends, in a heavy-industrial roofing manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to safely perform heavy lifting up to 50 pounds on a routine basis
- Comfortable standing for extended periods of time
- Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Ability to operate a pallet jack to move material
- Ability to regularly stand and use hands to fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms and occasionally required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must be able to work 12-hour shifts on alternate days with rotating weekends off
- Must be flexible; able to work other shifts, overtime and weekends when needed
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and follow instructions
- Ability to read basic measurement tools and ability to read and follow proper work instructions
- Minimum 1 year of counter-balance forklift operating experience (Recommended)
- Manual dexterity
- Attention to detail
- Fluent in verbal and written English
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in heavy-industrial manufacturing, construction, or similar industry preferred
- Highly motivated, self-starter with strong verbal and written communication skills
