Job Summary
Baggage System Operator (BSO) performs duties to free baggage jams, operate and monitor the baggage belt system and carousels, maintain a clean work area, and direct/handle passenger baggage to appropriate locations. Responsibilities include checking baggage into the system with destination and bar-coded tag, ensuring tubs are used and cleared of prior tags, gathering and returning tubs, and potentially acting as a general utility/support person on maintenance contracts. Must be able to work a 24/7 schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays; valid driver's license; ability to attain an Airport I.D. Badge; stand, walk, reach, climb ladders up to 10 feet, and lift up to 70 lbs; strong verbal/written communication and customer service skills; basic knowledge of conveyor systems; background check and drug screen required.
