Job Summary
Coordinate workloads in the Packaging department while monitoring issues and ensuring product development meets customer requirements and quality standards. Implement proper procedures for de-clipping, inspecting, loading, and palletizing meat products, including stick products, following specific counts, formats, and lot numbers. Perform inspections for package integrity and defects, review product labels, and stage containers with correct species and IDs. Execute sanitarian tasks to maintain clean conditions, stock PPE, and conduct product checks during production runs to verify quality specs and prevent cross-contamination. Work 40+ hours per week in temperatures of 40 degrees or less, standing for 10 hours and lifting up to 60 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Able to professionally communicate with cross-functional departments
- Possess a sense of urgency and attention to accuracy and detail
- Capable of managing a variety of tasks simultaneously with rapidly changing priorities
- Demonstrated ability to work productively and effectively as part of a team
- Must be able to read and write in English
- Must be able to work 40 or more hours per week
- Must be able to work in temperatures of 40 degrees or less
- Must be able to work mandatory overtime if necessary
- Must adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)
- Must be able to stand for 10 hours per day
- Must be able to bend, stoop, and squat as needed for housekeeping responsibilities and other miscellaneous duties
- Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds
- Must have good hand/eye coordination
- Must be highly attentive to detail (i.e., meat type/film/date)
