Overseas Admissions Counselor (Student Recruiter) based in Tokyo

Job Summary
Conduct individual meetings and information sessions with prospective students while serving as the primary point of contact for applicants. Represent Temple University, Japan Campus to the public, school counselors, and academic institutions by creating and executing recruiting trip plans that include visits to high schools, college fairs, and conferences. Prepare and deliver presentations about studying and living in Japan, spending significant time overseas on recruiting trips to support enrollment goals. Provide support for various recruiting and marketing projects assigned by the Director of Overseas Admissions Counseling. This role requires evening and weekend work, significant international travel, and native-level English communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Native or native-level English
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree
- Valid driver's license and ability to get an international driver's permit if required
- Strong computer skills (database, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Friendly, customer-focused, and professional
- Sales and/or marketing experience
- Strong organizational skills
- Target oriented mindset
- Ability to communicate effectively at a professional level (in written and verbal form)
- Evening and weekend work
- Significant international travel
- Spend significant time overseas on recruiting trips
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in the education sector
- 2 to 3 years of previous experience in student recruiting and/or university admissions
- Experience presenting to large groups, trip planning, and marketing
- Business-level spoken Japanese
- Experience with Slate
- Study experience at a U.S. higher education institution and/or study abroad experience
