Job Summary
Support clients in the detoxification process by conducting regular physical and mental status checks, monitoring vital signs, and performing urinalysis or breathalyzer tests as needed. Manage medication room duties including logging prescriptions in the electronic health record, administering medications, and ensuring safe storage. Document all client activities in charts and shift logs while performing safety checks for admissions and maintaining cleanliness of client areas. Assist with admission and discharge paperwork and provide transportation when approved. Requires CNA or equivalent certification, ability to work weekends and nights, and a valid California driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- Medical Assistant certification
- Registered Drug & Alcohol Technician
- Emergency Medical Technician
- Experience in a comparable setting
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Valid California Driver License
- Good judgment and ability to function in emergency situations
- Ability to work with people differing in value systems, ethnicity, cultural backgrounds, language capabilities and disabilities
- Ability to communicate effectively with others
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and email in a Windows based PC
- Ability to work in a fast paced, intensive, client centered environment
- Ability to work full-time, weekends and nights (weekends & nights rotation available)
- Climbing; ascending or descending stairs, ramps, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms
- Kneeling; bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees
- Crouching; bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine
- Reaching; extending hand (s) and arms above head in any direction
- Hearing; perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound
- Lifting; able to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to 20 pounds
- Visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures and viewing a computer terminal
