Job Summary
Overnight Stocking Department Manager at Meijer leads team members in the stocking area, directing Leads and Team Leaders, and is accountable for area operations and financial results (including budgeting, shrink, productivity, and scheduling). Responsibilities include onboarding, training and development, coaching, performance management, talent discussions, and cultivating a diverse talent pipeline for both frontline and leadership roles. Focuses on ensuring Meijer standards, safety/compliance, process improvements, and delivering customer-focused service while driving staffing decisions and forecasting needs. Requires effective communication, leadership experience in retail/grocery, and a proactive approach to managing store operations and analytics to maximize sales and productivity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience
- Progressive leadership experience preferred
- Strong communication and direction-giving abilities
- Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions
