Job Summary

Transport guests to and from the hotel, hospital, casino, and local area using safe driving practices and courteous communication. Assist with luggage delivery and pickup during arrival and departure, while inspecting the vehicle before each shift and maintaining activity and maintenance logs. Operate only vehicles seating eight or fewer, ensuring proper wheelchair safety and cleaning equipment after each use. Acknowledge guests within 30 seconds, greet them by name, and protect confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements. Maintain composure under pressure and submit reports for any vehicle malfunctions or damage.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license at all times
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background, MVR and drug screen
  • Must complete the Wheelchair Safety Training course provided by Towne Park as applicable
  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and write standard English language
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, clients and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to add and subtract three digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's; ability to perform these operations using units of American money
  • Ability to understand 24 hour and military time systems
  • Ability to understand rates applicable to time passed
  • Must be able to learn and remember pick-up and destination points
  • Knowledge of all property outlets, meeting rooms, amenities as well as main attractions in the area, parking rates, etc.
  • Must be able to communicate by telephone, two-way radio and in person in a courteous, friendly and professional manner with all guests, location staff and co-workers
  • Must be able to assist patrons with entering and exiting the vehicle
  • May be required to use specialized equipment such as wheelchair lifts
  • Must be able to operate a vehicle that seats eight people or less, including driver
  • Must be able to inspect exterior and interior of vehicle at beginning of each shift for properly operating headlights, turn signals, brake lights, interior courtesy lights, air-conditioning or heating, warning lamps, mirror adjustment, properly inflated tires, windshield wipers, vehicle damage, etc.
  • Must monitor vehicle condition and record malfunctioning items or damage and submit to manager
  • Must protect guest confidentiality in accordance with HIPPA requirements
  • Must maintain the security of client financial and identifying information
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly
  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to run; walk; handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Must have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Must be available for overnight, part-time or full-time shifts
  • Must be willing to work in extreme heat and cold weather
  • Must be willing to travel up to 5%
