Job Summary
Maintain security across Wegmans facilities; respond to emergencies, provide clear, calm direction, and offer medical care to the appropriate EMT level; manage access control to verify vendors, contractors, and visitors have business purpose; protect property and people while prioritizing customer service; proactively patrol buildings and grounds; conduct preliminary investigations related to safety and security events; requires EMT certification and compliance with training; 1+ years sworn police officer experience, valid firearms license, and valid driver's license; must possess strong communication, conflict-management, and problem-solving skills; demonstrated ability to perform under pressure and use technology effectively; preferred degree in criminal justice or related field and certifications in CPR, AED, and FAC.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years full-time experience as a sworn police officer with arrest authority in a military, municipal, county, state, or federal police agency
- Valid license to carry a firearm
- Valid driver’s license
- Conflict management and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Sound judgement skills and ability to manage conflict and communicate effectively under pressure
- Effective communication skills and ability to maintain composure in stressful environments
- Ability to anticipate, analyze and identify opportunities
- Technical aptitude with advanced computer skills
- Must successfully complete mandated training and coursework, pass the EMT exam, and maintain required EMT certification
