Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents (two-person, married couple) for Milton Hershey School. The role resides in on-campus student homes, caring for a group of approximately 8–13 students, providing supervision, mentorship, and support to foster academic, emotional, and social development. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel visits, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and following a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule with eventual transition to a placed houseparent role living with the same student group. Relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits are provided; salary is per person with total compensation around $168,000 per couple. Requires high school diploma or GED, valid driver's license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; both spouses must be legally married and at least 27 years old to be considered.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for married couple
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- High school diploma or GED
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
