Job Summary
Thoroughly clean and sanitize all kitchen areas, food preparation spaces, equipment, and workstations according to established health and safety standards. Operate commercial dishwashing and cleaning equipment safely, deep clean floors, walls, shelving, drains, and storage, and maintain ovens, grills, hoods, fryers, refrigerators, and freezers as scheduled. Empty waste receptacles, replenish cleaning supplies, and report inventory shortages while safely handling chemicals per WHMIS regulations. Identify maintenance concerns and promptly report equipment issues. Work independently from 10:30 pm to 7 am, maintaining a hazard-free environment and adhering to food safety protocols. Collaborate with colleagues across departments to support seamless hotel operations.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Frequently lifting and carrying over 20lbs
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Frequent bending, lifting, reaching, pushing, and pulling
- Working in hot, humid, and occasionally cold environments
- Safely lifting and moving supplies, equipment, and waste materials
- Working around commercial kitchen equipment and cleaning chemicals
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen cleaning, stewarding, janitorial, or hospitality environment
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- WHMIS certification
