Job Summary
Welcome and register guests, process payments and refunds, and manage bank floats. Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance to fulfill requests, block rooms, and escort arrivals. Handle inquiries via phone, email, or text, monitor VIPs and special requests, and offer room upsells. Maintain open folios, complete daily checklists, and assist with morning reports and overnight audits. Operate radios professionally and balance the front desk area to Raffles standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner
- Must be extremely professional and demonstrate genuine and intuitive service
- Must be able to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives
- Must be able to cross-train in other hotel-related areas
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information
- Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs
- Must be able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, ever-changing environment
- Ability to stand during entire shift
- Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
- Flexible hours including overnight shifts, weekends and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in a luxury hotel environment preferred
- Previous experience with OPERA preferred
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
