Job Summary
Answer the 24-hour Crisis Hotline for trauma-informed intervention and safety planning, welcome new residents for intake, and conduct nightly safety, security, and wellness rounds across the three-story shelter. Monitor building access controls, respond to emergencies with independent judgment, and complete shift and incident reports. Maintain a clean environment by restocking supplies and performing light housekeeping before daytime operations begin. Collaborate with leadership and the daytime team to ensure continuity of care for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and homelessness.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One to two years of experience in a social service, residential, healthcare, behavioral health, or related environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and electronic documentation
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Proof of automobile liability insurance
- Ability to pass a background investigation
- Ability to pass fingerprinting
- Ability to pass a drug screen
- Ability to pass a driver's record check
- Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certification after hire
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related human services field
- Experience working with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, homelessness, or other trauma
- Knowledge of crisis intervention and trauma-informed care
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
