Overhead Crane Technician / Industrial Electrician

Job Summary
Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on electric overhead traveling cranes and hoists at varied customer locations, conducting on-site electrical, mechanical, structural, and electronic troubleshooting to determine equipment malfunctions. Advise supervisors of unsafe practices, document findings during safety reviews, and provide written safety notifications to customers. Complete post-repair audits, obtain customer signatures on electronic documentation, and consult on repair quotations and safety improvements. Maintain company equipment, vehicles, and inventory while adhering to all CSA, OSHA, and industry codes. Work full-time in a unionized role with an on-call rotation, requiring valid driver's license, ability to work at heights, and travel to industrial sites.
Required Qualifications
- A recognized trade qualification as a Journeyman Electrician, Journeyman Millwright or equivalent qualification/experience in terms of skills and knowledge
- An Associate's degree in Industrial Electrical/Mechanical Technology with related field or equivalent experience
- Equivalent experience in terms of skills and knowledge
- Min 1 year or depending on the Provincial Legislative requirements and CSA standards
- Must have and maintain a good driving record
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness and ability to work at heights
- Ability to climb ladders/walkways
- Good computer, written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer interaction skills
- Ability to work overtime or as required by customer operations
- Ability to travel and work out of town as required
- Ability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs less frequently on a daily basis
- Ability to lift to 75 lbs and up to 100lbs on a rare basis with an assisted devices
- Ability to lift 100 lbs on a rare basis
- Good balance
- Ability to stoop/crouch
- Ability to work overhead
- Ability to push, pull, kneel, and crawl as required
- Ability to work outdoors as well as indoors at industrial customer sites
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to read, understand and apply the contents of all CSA, OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, HMI and other codes or regulations pertaining to our industry
- Ability to refresh and update knowledge periodically
