Job Summary
Perform pre and post trip inspections of equipment in accordance with DOT regulations and complete daily vehicle inspection reports, trip records, and weekly logbooks. Safely operate all company-owned vehicles, deliver loads to destinations while complying with traffic laws, and unload equipment as required. Maintain equipment in good working condition per the Vehicle Safety Policy and report defects via the VIR and maintenance line. Communicate professionally with internal and external personnel and complete all necessary DOT paperwork accurately and timely. Requires a Class A CDL, DOT certified physical, and completion of driver training. 100% travel required with a schedule varying per business needs and DOT restrictions.
Required Qualifications
- Must pass driver training
- Excellent verbal and written communication; listening skills
- Basic reading and comprehension skills
- Basic numerical reasoning skills
- Ability to complete all DOT certified paperwork in a neat and efficient manner in accordance to DOT regulation
- Excellent customer service skills
- Complete a DOT certified physical which must be renewed every two years unless otherwise indicated by the physician
- Must also meet all Vehicle Safety Policy Standards
- Must maintain all requirements of keeping a Class A CDL
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience and hold a Class A CDL driver's license
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift legs of the equipment and cartons weighing approximately 50 - 100 + lbs. repetitively
- Ability to operate Class A Certified equipment
- 100% travel required
