Job Summary
Over the Road Driver Extraboard operates tractor/trailer to move freight for Estes within FMCSA rules, maintaining records, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and complying with safety regulations. Responsibilities include handling hazardous materials where required, using in-cab technology and ELD, adhering to FMCSA requirements, driving under varied conditions, and providing professional service to customers. The role requires staying within FMCSA guidelines, maintaining a valid Class A CDL, and meeting physical demands such as lifting ~70 lbs, with home time approximately every 5 days.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 21 years of age
- valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
- Must be registered with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
- Must reside within 75 miles of the domiciled Service Center and/or work assignment
- HazMat, Tanker and Doubles endorsements
- Able to drive a tractor trailer per FMCSA requirements
- Stable employment history
- Physical ability to lift ~70 lbs and perform related tasks
- Must be able to drive all routes and various terrains including mountains, curvy highways, desert areas, etc.
- Able to operate safety and operational functions of equipment including manual/automatic transmission
- Must comply with company policies and code of conduct
- Able to interact well with others and work independently or in a team
- Able to meet deadlines and read/write English
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen, random drug/alcohol tests, background check
- Authorized to work in the United States
