Job Summary
Conduct over-the-road tractor-trailer driving with commitment to safety policies and FMCSA pre-trip standards. Operate the Electronic Qualcomm Log System and communicate via cellular telephone with dispatch using the McLeod application. Perform vehicle operations on asphalt, concrete, and gravel surfaces, including chaining up during severe weather. Maintain a CDL and pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks. Work independently with routine interaction with management, utilizing all training provided by American Furniture Warehouse.
Required Qualifications
- At least 1yr. OTR tractor-trailer driving experience in the past 3 years
- No major FMCSA violations
- Acceptable MVR and PSP within the last three years
- Must be able to maintain a CDL
- Must be willing to chain up during severe weather
- Must be aware that operations occur on asphalt, concrete and gravel surfaces in a hostile environment often contaminated with material subject to embedding in tires
- Must function and interact on a routine basis with the AFW management team
- Communicate using a cellular telephone with dispatch and AFW personnel via McLeod application
- Ability to efficiently work independently of direct supervision
- A Pre-employment drug screen and pre-employment background check must be passed upon job offer
