Job Summary
Greet customers empathetically, assess furniture for repairability, and restore damaged items to new condition using hand and power tools. Clean stained or soiled upholstery and mattresses, then complete bench testing evaluations to validate skills. Follow planned routes for on-time customer service, report incomplete calls, and maintain a clean service vehicle with weekly maintenance logs. Adhere to driving policies and MVR requirements while supporting shop technicians as needed. Requires a valid driver's license, high school diploma, and one year of furniture repair experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 1-year practical work experience in furniture repair including upholstery, leather repairs and wood refinishing OR similar experience working with other materials and completing color matching
- Read, understand, and write in the English language
- Valid Driver's License
- an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record per company guidelines
- close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus to read reports, view computer screen, etc.
- able to hear and understand speech to interact with others
- able to speak so that others will be able to understand
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Ability to learn in-house computer programs
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks with both hands to include keyboarding, handwriting, office/POS equipment and handheld equipment operation
- Will remain on one's feet in an upright position and move about on foot
- Will bend, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch and reach at or above shoulder level
- Will lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds and more with assistance
- Will work predominately in a private home or retail establishment; occasional work at warehouse locations
