Job Summary
Maximize territory financial performance by expanding rentals and sales of Xylem products and services through aggressive cold calling, lead development, and construction marketing data analysis. Grow and maintain an effective sales pipeline in Salesforce.com while establishing new accounts and increasing volume for pumping systems, aftermarket sales, and services. Apply technical product knowledge to solve customer fluid handling programs, drive bid reporting, and implement local marketing strategies for cross-business synergy. Prepare sales reports, audits, and forecasts; attend training, sales meetings, and trade shows as a public relations asset. Assist in field training of other representatives and participate in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities. Requires 50% local travel, 40-hour weeks, and ability to lift 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2+ years' sales or sales related experience
- Thorough knowledge of consultative/value-based selling
- Knowledge of mechanical and pumping designs; hydraulic, pneumatics, water flow, diesel, gas, and electric motors
- Previous experience in the use of Salesforce.com or other CRM's
- Ability to present product education seminars to groups of 20-40 people
- Effective interpersonal skills with customers, employees, and management team
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Strong teamwork and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Ability to demonstrate effective negotiation and influencing skills
- knowledge of selling practices and techniques
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and the use of computer applications
- Ability to meet and continuously maintain authorization to operate a company vehicle
- Local travel requirement 50%
- This position requires the new hire to lift up to 50 lbs
