Job Summary
Outside Sales Representative responsible for transaction growth for assigned accounts and prospecting new customers. Manage the sales process end-to-end: oversee assigned accounts, negotiate all deal phases, and manage the closing process. Identify and develop potential customers, present tailored solutions, build strong relationships, observe construction sites to determine material needs, consult with customers on design/specifications and estimate costs, prepare quotes and process orders/invoices, ensure credit requirements are met, coordinate with yard/store/office staff to deliver an exceptional customer experience, and travel to customer sites as needed to drive sales and margin growth.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years selling experience in the building materials industry (preferably with a manufacturer, independent sales representative, or distributor)
- Must be able to work as a team and communicate effectively
- Must have knowledge of blueprint reading
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools and POS programs
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to visit customer job sites
- Travel during role responsibilities
