Job Summary
Generate profitable sales revenue by renting pumps and providing engineered pumping solutions for short-term or long-term fluid-moving projects. Establish new rental accounts through phone calls and in-person visits to build and grow customer and vendor relationships. Present turnkey services, lead negotiations to win business, and drive new growth through proactive outreach while managing territory priorities and shifting demands. Maintain knowledge of all rental products, pricing, terms, and policies to deliver tailored solutions that defuse tension and ensure clear project communication. This role covers a growing Minnesota territory for Cogent's Velocity Pump Rental Division, supporting contractor, municipal, and industrial markets with over 50 years of industry experience.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in solution-based sales or selling a product with a service element
- Ability to build relationships and navigate complex sales processes with a diverse customer base
- Strong technical mindset and the ability to convey complex ideas in an engaging way
- Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to contribute to a collaborative, ownership-driven culture
- Proven track record of growth in a territory-based sales role
- Construction management or pump equipment background
- A strong network of contacts in the construction and contractor sectors
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record
