Outside Sales Representative (Contractor / Low Voltage)

Job Summary
Develops new prospects and manages assigned customer accounts in the contractor/low voltage market; conducts face-to-face sales, presentations, proposals, and product demonstrations; builds relationships with technical, operations, supply chain and executive stakeholders; supports billing-margin initiatives through value-added services and supplier engagement; prospecting via cold calls and referrals; communicates customer needs and align products/services to meet those needs; ensures customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management and signals new products or enhancements; utilizes sales management tools and trainings to grow product knowledge; develops strong relationships with suppliers and performs regular joint sales calls; provides quotations directly or with the sales support team; requires valid driver's license, HS degree (Bachelor’s preferred), strong negotiation and presentation skills, and ability to travel 50–75% of the time.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver’s License, with a satisfactory driving record required
- High School Degree or Equivalent required
- Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
- Prior sales experience required, outside sales preferred
- Two years of industry experience preferred
- Ability to travel to current and potential clients and suppliers
- Ability to work flexible schedule and occasional overnight travel
- Excellent sales and negotiation skills
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Effective communicator both written and verbally
- Ability to work in team environment
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills
