Job Summary
Identify and secure new business opportunities in aerospace, defense, rail, and industrial markets. Collaborate with customer engineering teams to review drawings and recommend manufacturing solutions for casting, machining, or fabrication. Build relationships with existing and prospective clients while serving as the primary liaison between customers and internal engineering and production teams. Promote the full Bearon portfolio of products and services to maximize cross-selling and drive revenue growth. Monitor industry trends and competitive activity to provide market insights that support business strategy and product development. This role requires approximately 75% regional travel to meet customers, support key accounts, and represent the company at trade shows.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in technical outside sales, customer project management, or a related customer-facing role within the manufacturing, metalworking, or industrial sectors
- Travel Requirements: Approximately 75% of this role involves regional travel to meet with customers, develop and expand business opportunities, support key accounts, and represent the company at industry trade shows and events
- Demonstrated experience working with CNC machining, tooling, manufacturing processes, and a variety of engineering materials
- Proven ability to interpret engineering drawings, collaborate with technical teams, and develop customer-focused manufacturing solutions
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and CAD drawings, and confidently discuss technical specifications with engineers, purchasing agents, and other customer stakeholders
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and consultative selling skills, with the ability to communicate value beyond price alone
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks and Mastercam, along with a solid understanding of metrology, manufacturing processes, and quality control principles
- Self-motivated, results-oriented professional with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with foundry operations, castings, and tooling
- Ideal candidates will have experience in roles such as Sales Engineer, Technical Account Manager, Application Engineer, Business Development Manager (Manufacturing), or similar technical sales positions
- Familiarity with HubSpot or other CRM platforms
