Outside Sales Engineer - Equipment - Orange County/Inland Empire

Job Summary
Outside Sales Engineer to proactively call on contractors, specifying engineers and end-users to develop long-term relationships and generate sales prospects. You will determine client needs, provide equipment selections and technical detail, prepare proposals/submittals, advise customers and the RFM team on technical questions, coordinate equipment purchases with vendors, and provide project management support throughout a project. Maintain CRM data quality and collaborate with administrative personnel for paperwork. Role expects 3-4 days out of the office per week and 1-2 days in the office for meetings and paperwork. Requires experience with HVAC systems, boilers, pumps, hydronic/steam systems, and strong technical sales capabilities, plus travel and a valid driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, engineering technology, or equivalent from a four-year college or university
- Ideal candidate will have experience with HVAC systems, steam theory, controls, and/or technical sales
- Good knowledge in appraising the customer’s needs for the sale of various products including hydronic and steam boilers and other equipment in a hydronic system or steam system
- Strong presentation skills and ability to present on technical topics to contractor and engineer audiences
- Strong language skills as well as industry specific vocabulary
- Computer skills. Must be proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM
- A valid driver's license is required. Must be insurable with no major infractions. Travel required
