Job Summary
Provide excellent customer service by helping potential customers find power equipment matching their specific needs and budget constraints. Engage customers in meaningful conversations to understand their requirements, then assist with retail financing and manage special orders for power equipment. Conduct product demonstrations, explain technical specifications, and utilize upselling techniques to maximize sales while maintaining store merchandising standards. Actively listen to concerns, resolve issues promptly, and collect contact information for follow-ups on out-of-stock items or new arrivals. Process POS transactions, handle returns, and collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets. Work outdoors in various elements including heat, cold, rain, and snow, while navigating computer systems for inventory management.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience in a sales or customer service role
- Deep knowledge and passion for agriculture, farm equipment, tools, and home essentials
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Results-driven mindset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Basic computer skills for point-of-sale transactions and inventory management systems
- Resilience and a willingness to deal with rejection
- Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Initiative to devise sales strategies and work under pressure
- Demonstrated behaviors reflecting integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Comfortable navigating computer systems and software
- Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to lift, push, and/or pull a minimum of 30 pounds repetitively and 31-50 pounds intermittently
- Ability to verbally communicate effectively with others
- Close vision for computer-related activities
- Ability to use a ladder and/or pallet jack
- Ability to navigate and access all facilities
