Job Summary
Engineer design for outside plant projects locally and support ZFB Build initiatives. Proactively review facilities for upgrades, coordinate with utilities for joint trench designs, and attend preconstruction meetings. Manage frontline construction activities, communicate with government indices, and apply for all required permits. Maintain accurate cable records, update As-Builts, prepare cost estimates, and assist in annual budget design. Drive on behalf of the company to perform field duties safely, including operating a motor vehicle and lifting up to 25 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience in an outside plant position
- Outside plant construction project management experience
- Inventory management experience
- Experience in ROW, private easement and permitting with local, state, and federal entities
- Working knowledge of outside plant design, including cable count layouts and capacity planning
- Valid State Driver's License
- Satisfactory driving record
- Completion of a pre-employment drug screening
- Authorization to work in the US for any employer
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of outside plant activity and engineering tools to include Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, etc.

- Customer relations skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with Engineering team, regional managers, vendors, local supervisors, and technicians
- Ability to manage multiple projects in various stages of activity and meet critical deadlines
- Ability to drive on behalf of the company in a safe and responsible manner
