Job Summary

Conduct outside plant engineering design and activity support for local projects and ZFB Build initiatives. Manage frontline construction activities, coordinate with utilities for joint trench designs, and attend preconstruction meetings. Apply for state, county, and city permits; maintain accurate cable records, As-Builts, and ROW/easement releases. Prepare cost estimates for BDTs, assist in annual budget design, and communicate with indices on planned growth projects. Requires a valid driver's license, ability to drive up to 2 miles daily, and occasional lifting of 25 pounds.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in an outside plant position
  • Outside plant construction project management experience
  • Inventory management experience
  • Experience in ROW, private easement and permitting with local, state, and federal entities
  • Working knowledge of outside plant design, including cable count layouts and capacity planning
  • Valid State Driver's License
  • Satisfactory driving record
  • Pre-employment drug screening completion
  • Authorization to work in the US for any employer
  • Ability to bend, stoop, sit, stand, or walk for prolonged periods of time, including walking up to 2 miles when in the field performing duties
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to use hands and repetitive motions to drive stakes into ground using a hammer

  • Ability to perform all functions of operating a motor vehicle regularly and safely

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in various stages of activity and meet critical deadlines
  • Ability to drive on behalf of the company in a safe and responsible manner
