Job Summary
Outside Mortgage Loan Originator responsibilities include generating first mortgage real estate loans for MIDFLORIDA members, reviewing pre-qualifications to determine appropriate programs, issuing prequalification letters and disclosures, processing referrals and online applications, reviewing credit reports and locking in loans with the secondary market, auditing files for completeness and compliance, providing good faith estimates and truth-in-lending disclosures within 3 business days, and supporting branches with mortgage lending needs while demonstrating integrity and professionalism. Qualifications emphasize 3 years of FHA/VA/USDA and conventional origination experience, strong knowledge of mortgage regulations, proficiency with loan underwriting and secondary market guidelines, customer service excellence, and eligibility to be registered as an MLO under the SAFE Act; a high school diploma is required with a bachelor’s degree preferred.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of government (FHA/VA/USDA) and conventional loan origination experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Eligibility to meet SAFE Act to be registered as an MLO with NMLS
- Proficiency with computers, internet and Microsoft Office
- Excellent customer service and strong verbal and written communications skills
- Advanced knowledge of the real estate market and understanding of Federal and State mortgage regulations
- Experience with loan underwriting and secondary market guidelines
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (E-Verify awareness)
