Job Summary
Outside Mortgage Loan Officer responsibilities include converting self-sourced and COI/referral leads into mortgage loans, pre-qualifying borrowers, reviewing income/assets/debt and credit to determine suitable loan products, managing pipeline, counseling members on denials and credit improvement, promoting lending referrals with branches, and maintaining regulatory compliance (RESPA, BSA/AML/OFAC, etc.). The role requires building relationships with realtors and attorneys, providing product education to members via seminars and business development visits, identifying opportunities to cross-sell additional products, participating in ongoing training, and travel as required. Qualifications include a college degree (preferred) or equivalent experience, at least 2 years in real estate lending, strong communication and organizational skills, NMLS as required, and ability to operate in a high-volume environment. The position emphasizes member service, cross-functional collaboration, and adherence to lending policies and regulatory requirements.
