Job Summary
Remove, repair, overhaul, install, and align main propulsion machinery, auxiliary systems, and associated equipment. Install foundations for operating machinery, set control and safety devices, and install ship machinery such as propelling motors, pumps, and steering gear using hand tools and measuring instruments. Test installed equipment during dock and sea trials to prove satisfactory operation. Ensure all work meets safety rules, quality standards, and blueprints while reporting unsafe conditions. Work within the shipyard with some travel required.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate, or GED
- Some travel required

- Ability to read and interpret documents furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form including but not limited to safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, quality manuals and procedure manuals
