Job Summary
The Outside Loan Officer is responsible for soliciting mortgage borrowers from personal referral sources to build a strong loan pipeline. Key duties include assisting borrowers in researching loans, navigating the application process, and recommending loan options. Loan Officers must engage in marketing activities to support personal sales leads and conduct in-person meetings with borrowers to sell mortgage products. The role requires excellent customer service and communication skills, sales-oriented mindset, and the ability to analyze financial information. Previous experience in loan origination or related fields is preferred, and positions must comply with state and federal regulations.
Required Qualifications
- NMLS registration and applicable State License for mortgage origination activities
- High school diploma or equivalent
Desired Qualifications
- Previous loan origination experience, ideally with consistent production (e.g., two or more units per month)
- Experience in residential mortgage lending, real estate, or financial services
- Proven track record in sales, client relationship management, or business development
