Job Summary
Support safe, efficient mill operations by conducting daily forklift, loader, and switcher inspections; maintaining propane and slurry tank levels; and operating shifter equipment for railcar coordination. Manage material handling logistics by scanning incoming fiber, staging chemicals, unloading supply shipments, and directing traffic for drivers. Perform housekeeping duties across the woodyard, pole barn, and cellroom, including snow removal and waste disposal. Monitor team scheduling systems, maintain accurate logs for fiber handling and trailer tracking, and report unsafe conditions or equipment issues immediately. Work outdoors in all weather conditions with on-call rotation for nights, weekends, and holidays as needed for ground cleanup.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with forklift, loader, switcher, and other heavy equipment operation
- Basic understanding of trailer movement, yard operations, and safe loading/unloading practices
- Ability to follow direction from Supervisor while working independently when required
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to anticipate operational needs
- Comfortable working in a team environment with shifting priorities
- Basic computer skills and ability to use handheld scanners for inventory and tracking systems
- Reliable team player with a positive and proactive work ethic
