Job Summary
Conduct daily inspections of forklifts, loaders, and switchers before operation and maintain accurate logs for fiber handling, trailer tracking, and material movement. Operate heavy equipment including forklifts, loaders, and shifter equipment to transport, stack, and stage paper bales, rolls, and chemicals while monitoring slurry and propane tank levels. Perform snow removal, seasonal maintenance, and housekeeping across the woodyard, pole barn, and exterior areas, ensuring compliance with all mill safety policies, PPE requirements, and chemical handling protocols. Work outside a production facility exposed to all elements, requiring on-call availability for nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Capability to lift 50lbs
- Ability to follow direction from Supervisor while working independently when required
- Reliable team player with a positive and proactive work ethic
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with forklift, loader, switcher, and other heavy equipment operation
- Basic understanding of trailer movement, yard operations, and safe loading/unloading practices
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to anticipate operational needs
- Comfortable working in a team environment with shifting priorities
- Basic computer skills and ability to use handheld scanners for inventory and tracking systems
