Job Summary
Conduct cabling testing, documentation, and installation of fiber optic systems, including pulling, suspending, and terminating cables per NEC and local regulations. Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on optical networks while working in adverse weather conditions, aloft up to 30ft, and in close spaces like manholes. Operate company vehicles with a valid license, using tools such as drills and splicers to ensure seamless customer internet service. Adhere to safety guidelines, wear PPE, and maintain a high standard of work ethics while collaborating with teams to deliver premiere service to business and residential clients.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of installation experience
- Valid driver's license
- Acceptable driving record
- Ability to maintain insurability under the company's auto policy
- Ability to properly use all tools and equipment necessary to perform assigned tasks-including Drills, Cable Cutters, Splicers, Hammer Drill
- Basic understanding of fiber optics cabling and splicing
- Basic computer & home networking skills
- Basic electronic audio/video knowledge
- Ability to adhere to safety guidelines and requirements including wearing all forms of PPE
- Ability to work in adverse conditions including all weather conditions
- Great work ethic
- Trainability
- Ability to work aloft and in close spaces up to 30ft in ladder, or hand climb utility poles using gaffs
- Ability to work in manholes
- Ability to stoop, kneel or crouch for long periods of time
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and carry 25 pounds consistently
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, evenings, and overtime as required
- Ability to read a print and follow color coordinated routings
