Job Summary
Install fiber-optic cabling and perform electrical work outdoors across New York, Pennsylvania, and Maryland, adhering to color-coded routing plans and safety guidelines. Operate industry tools including drills, cable cutters, and splicers while climbing utility poles up to 30 feet and working in confined spaces like manholes. Lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds in physically demanding environments, maintaining insurability and passing background checks. Work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays, delivering exceptional customer experiences as part of a team transforming communities through ultra-fast internet.
Required Qualifications
- Understanding and/or interest in fiber-optic cabling, installation, and electrical background
- Basic computer, networking, and home technology knowledge
- Experience using industry tools and equipment such as drills, cable cutters, splicers, and hammer drills
- Ability to read prints and follow color-coded routing plans
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude
- Strong work ethic and commitment to quality workmanship
- Willingness to share knowledge and support team development
- Safety-first mindset with strict adherence to safety guidelines and PPE requirements
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in the field
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions
- Ability to climb ladders up to 30 feet and hand-climb utility poles using gaffs
- Ability to work in confined spaces, including manholes
- Frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, and work in physically demanding environments
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and regularly carry up to 25 pounds
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime when needed
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to maintain insurability under company auto insurance guidelines
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
