Outreach Worker, Youth Enrichment Services (YES) (BIVO)

Facilitate structured sessions, workshops, and mentorship activities focused on conflict resolution, violence prevention, and positive youth development. Work closely with safety staff to identify and engage at-risk youth, serving as a visible presence to build relationships and detect conflicts. Respond promptly to crisis situations, deescalating incidents and mediating disputes involving students both inside and outside the school. Provide safe passage for students at least twice weekly, ensuring supportive presence along high-risk routes to public transportation. Actively recruit participants, mentor them on life skills, and document all interactions and mediation activities. Collaborate with school personnel and law enforcement to address incidents and identify recurring conflict hot spots. Participate in regular team meetings, training sessions, and program events, while supporting marketing efforts through material distribution. Maintain open communication with the Lead Mediation Specialist and perform other duties as assigned.
